Underneath the Job Details section, you can click the Edit Job button to start editing the job (if on the Workbench screen, you can also right click on the job in the table and select "Edit Job" from the drop down menu that appears):
This will open the Forward Works Plan in an editing view where you can:
- Edit the Map
- Edit the Details and Status
- Change the Visibility
- Choose to make the job Negotiable
Editing the Map
You can edit the works site shape using the Spatial tools supplied. To Edit, you must click the Edit button, which makes the site active on the map, then select an editing tool (Point, Line or Polygon) to draw on the map.
You can click the Edit button to make the AOI active on the map, then amend the shape that is already there. Alternatively, select an editing tool (Point, Line or Polygon) to draw new area on the map.
Editing the Details and Status
The Details of the Job (such as the Reference/Scheme Number Start/End date or Contact person) can also be edited as required. To do this, click in the information box of the relevant field and make the change.
To save all changes, including map changes, click Update.
Visibility
There is an option to change the visibility of a job. This allows you to manage who can see the job, whether it is:
- Draft (for Internal use only)
- Private (shared with the Territory Owner), or
- Public (more widely shared with other organizations).
All jobs follow the same visibility hierarchy - Draft, Private, Public.
A job visibility does not need to progress. The benefit of collaboration, however, will be lost if other organizations are unaware of the existence of the planned works.
To progress a Job’s visibility you need to click in the box labelled Visibility. You will then have the visibility options to select from. Select the new choice and save the edit.
All Jobs follow the same visibility hierarchy:
- Draft
- Private
- Public
Once a job has progressed visibility (from Draft to Private, or Private to Public), it cannot be returned to its previous visibility as other organizations will have already been notified. A job can have its visibility changed from Draft to Public in one step if required.
Is Negotiable?
Another option that can be managed via the details is whether the Job is Negotiable. You can select whether to flag a job as Negotiable, indicating to other users their willingness to consider date and/or location changes, or Not, which indicates there is no willingness (or ability) to change either date or location of the works.
To flag a Job as being Negotiable, you need to tick the field labelled Is Negotiable? and select either Yes or No. Changing this field shows other organizations if you have an intent or capacity to negotiate on this job.
